AI visibility
Which answer engines mention your business, for which prompts, and who they name instead.
Rankings tell you where a page sits on a results page nobody is reading. This tells you whether an assistant named you when someone asked it what to buy.
How it is measured#
Your tracked prompts are put to each engine on a schedule, as a real question, and the answer is recorded and read for three things: whether you were named, how prominently, and who else was.
ChatGPT
Including its browsing and search modes.
Claude
Anthropic’s assistant, with web access.
Perplexity
Citation-first, so sources are explicit.
Gemini
Google’s assistant.
Google AI
The AI overview above ordinary results.
Note
Answers vary between runs by design — these are generative systems, not a fixed index. Read the trend across weeks, not a single result.
The four tabs#
| Tab | What it answers |
|---|---|
| Overview | Are you being named, and is that improving? |
| Prompts | Which questions are being tracked, and how you do on each |
| Brands mentioned | Who gets named instead of you, and how often |
| Sources | Which pages the engines quote — yours and everyone else’s |
Tip
Sources is the most underrated of the four. It shows the exact pages engines are reading to answer your prompts, which tells you what to write and where a mention would be worth having.
Prompts#
The questions being tracked. Citeca generates a starting set from your category and competitors; add the ones you know matter, since you know your buyers’ language better than any generator.
- Commercial — "best X for Y", "X alternatives". Closest to a purchase, hardest to win.
- Comparison — "X vs Y". Winnable with one honest, specific article.
- Problem — "how do I fix X". Where most early citations come from.
- Brand — "what is X", "is X any good". Worth watching, because the answer is about you.
Reading the results#
| Signal | What it means |
|---|---|
| Named, with a link | The best outcome — cited and clickable |
| Named, no link | Cited as knowledge. Still a recommendation |
| Not named, competitor is | The gap worth working. Feeds the calendar |
| Nobody named | An open prompt — cheapest kind to win |
Tip
A prompt where a competitor is cited and you are not is the single most useful row on this page. It names the topic, the angle and the source you need to displace — and it is what the next planned articles are built from.
